The Application of SOLO Taxonomy in Assessment of English Teaching Capability

Though the educational value of competence in culture understanding on the part of teachers of English has been increasingly recognized, it has not yet played its due role in English teaching. Because their competence is generally low, it is significant to place emphasis on both upgrade and study of their culture understanding. This paper is intended to divide competence into five levels which reveal the necessity of raising it higher levels. It also explores the horizontal division of levels, which provides a worthy guideline for assessment and promotion of English teaching.
How to Cite
