Abstract

Environmental pollution has recently become one of the key social issues. Deterioration of the environment with varying degrees of devastation in individual regions negatively contributes to public health and the quality of the entire ecosystem.  Due to its use of agrochemicals, the agriculture itself along with individual industries cause the soil pollution with heavy metals. The paper investigates the degree of heavy metal contamination of agricultural soil in selected Slovakian districts over a monitored period of time. Selected multidimensional statistical methods were applied to analyze and evaluate the degree of soil contamination.
