Keywords:
pattern, wisdom, knowledge, education, art of lifeAbstract
Byzantine thinker Theodore Metochites in a brief chapter of his extended work Hypomnimatismi and Seimeiosis gnomikai developed his views on the significance of the works and reasons of the actions of ancient people on the life of the descendants. Metochites assumed that the words and actions of the ancients can be a pattern for the younger ones and as a historic being they contribute in exercising the preparation and the education of the art of life.
